i am also looking for a new tft and am thinking the BenQ FP767-12 17" TFT Monitor (MO-004-BQ)
might be a very good choice. Its got a 12ms repsonse time good contrast ratio (500:1) and all for just 358.38 (saw in overlcokers) seems very cheap for this type of monitor

For that money u could get a mahusive top of the range CRT which imo are better for gaming anyways.

Actually the screens fresh off the block with 12ms are getting mixed reviews. They currently are performing no better than the well known 16ms panels I am afraid.

The L1710B is a solid choice actually m8, use DVI with it and be a happy man :) Think rex may have that one too.

Or go all out and get a Dell 2001FP like me. 20.1" of meaty goodness :D 16ms response and a impressive screen :)

The 850 price tag will put you off LOL, but I got mine new for over 260 less :D

Nick :)

BTW Morb, CRT's are not necessarilly the top choice for gaming nowadays ;)

For some of the fast paced games, like the quake and unreal series where the screen moves around very fast, i've read that CRTs are better with coping with the demanding refrsh rates. Its probably changed by now though.

What is the best choice, i have a Philips 109B 19 inch and im very happy with it. What would be the advantage of going to a TFT all ive herd is it is easyer on your eyes?

the decent modern ones are just fine.

I wonder if Jingles ever got a 2001FP like me, or did his ringpiece tighten at the price? ;)

thats a very nice monitor foots. How did u get it for so cheap? iThe dell has gone down to 550 now. Why arn't the 12ms performing better than the 16ms? Please inform me

I had a look at a friend's 2001FP and wasn't dazzled tbh

That said, the dude on ebuyer who is exploiting the small business rate is a tempting offer.

I think I'm going to hang on, because I want 2 screens and I don't want to regret my purchase.

Anandtech stil say that is the king and all must hail ;)

The latest 12ms Samsung TFT didn't do to badly against it tho :)
